Radisich injured after heavy crash (video)
Another heavy crash at Mount Panorama. This time it was Paul Radisich who was the unlucky driver. The driver from New Zealand left the track at high speed at McPhillamy Park after his throttle was stuck open and hit a concrete wall at high speed. The Holden driver broke his right ankle and dislocated his left in the crash.
“We just went down to the medical centre and he is conscious”, Radisich’s team mate Rick Kelly said. “He is obviously extremely sore; the impact was quite heavy and he has a bit of a sore right ankle. They think it could be broken, but we will know more in an hour or so,” he said straight after the incident.
It hasn’t been the first big accident for the 46-year old driver at Bathurst. Two years ago, in 2006, Radisich hit a wall at the Chase driving a Team Kiwi Racing Commodore. In the incident he smashed his left ankle.
