Bargwanna tops first testing at Winton

Jason Bargwanna has topped the first day of testing for the 2010 V8 Supercars season, setting the fastest lap in his Kelly Racing Holden Commodore. Team mate Rick Kelly was second, as the top Ford of Mark Winterbottom was third.

Not all the field was present however at the opening test.

Bargwanna, who moves over from the now defunct Sprint Gas Racing team to his new ride at Kelly Racing, fresh from announcing the cars sponsorship package with Rock energy drinks last week, is enthusiastic about the new season:
“I’ve said it already that I believe this is my best chance ever to have a crack for the championship and this is a good way to start the year.

“Clearly what we looked for today is to be comfortable in the Rock Commodore. That’s the first thing, to make sure I work well with my engineer (Stewart McDonald) and the guys on the car.

Jason Bright also impressed in his first outing for Brad Jones Racing, moving back to Holden after five years with Ford.
