Muller’s V8 appearance depends on reschedule
Yvan Muller’s shared drive with Greg Murphy at the Philip Island & Bathurst 1000km endurance events can’t be confirmed until the FIA confirm a replacement event for Mexico.
Earlier this week, Marcello Lotti of KSO confirmed that if there was a replacement event, it would take place during the six week break between the Spanish race at Valencia on September 19th, and the Japanese race at Okayama on October 31st.
However, with the V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000km event scheduled for October 10th, this means until the date is confirmed, the Frenchman is unable to confirm his availability to drive the Castrol Racing Holden Commodore, due to his commitment to race for Chevrolet in the WTCC.
Speaking to Speedcafe, Castrol Racing team owner Paul Morris said:
“I’ve sent him a contract, but the only thing that could possibly make things a bit difficult is replacing the Mexico round of the World Touring Car Championship. His commitments to that overrides anything we do, and the professional guy that he is, he’s got to see what lands there before he can let us know what he can do for us.”
