Whincup takes pole for race 7 at Hamilton
Jamie Whincup has taken pole position in Hamilton, New Zealand for race seven of the championship.
The TeamVodafone set the fastest lap in the top ten shootout, and will start ahead of Holden Racing Team driver Garth Tander, who was fastest in the initial qualifying session.
The home heroes were unable to shine, with Greg Murphy, Steven Richards and Shane van Gisbergen not even making it to the top ten shootout.
Indeed, Stone Brothers Racing suffered a horrible qualifying, though van Gisbergen was only 21st, he is the fastest of the three SBR cars, with team mates Tim Slade & Alex Davison starting 25th and 26th respectively.
Fujitsu Racing’s Michael Caruso will start a very impressive third, with Whincup’s team mate Lowndes in fourth, Holden lock out the first two rows of the grid.
Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom will start tenth, whilst the Jim Beam Racing Ford Falcon’s of Steven Johnson and James Courtney will start fifth and ninth respectively, with team mate Jonathon Webb just outside of the shootout, will start 11th.
