Whincup back on the winning track

Jamie Whincup has won race 14 at Hidden Valley, his first since Hamilton in April. FPR’s Mark Winterbottom and SBR’s Shane van Gisbergen complete the podium.

Alex Davison started from pole, but suffered with an electrical problem late in the race.

Jamie Whincup therefore took his seventh win of the season, and closes to within 57 points of James Courtney’s lead, who finished fourth for Jim Beam Racing.

Wilson Security Racing’s Tim Slade, and Team BOC’s Jason Richards repeated their strong form in yesterday’s race, and again finished in the top ten.

Holden Racing Team and TeamVodafone had brought new cars to Hidden Valley, but it appears it’s TeamVodafone’s Commodore’s that have the early pace. HRT drivers Will Davison and Garth Tander finished 11th and 19th respectively.
