Wittmer takes race one win at ICAR to extend lead
Lombardi Honda Racing driver Nick Wittmer took victory from Greg Pootmans & Dave Ciekiewicz to extend his championship lead in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship.
Sacha Anis had led from pole position in the G1 Racing Hyundai Genesis, which had claimed it’s first pole of the season – but Anis was unable to finish the race, leaving Wittmer to claim his second victory of the season in his Honda Civic.
In the Touring Class, Honda’s again were at the fore, with the two Durabond/Compass 360 Racing Civic’s of Anthony Rapone and Karl Thomson claiming a 1-2, ahead of Michel Sallenbach’s Octane Motorsport Mini Cooper.
The second race at the Quebec circuit of ICAR takes place on Sunday.
