Teams get ready to test new Commodores

Trading Post Racing and Triple Eight are ready to test their new Commodore’s on Monday as the mid-season testing ban comes to a close.

Trading Post Racing have been preparing a brand new Holden Commodore VE over the last few months for Jason Bright, and the team will shakedown the new car for Bright and Matt Halliday, who will join him at Phillip Island.

The team is hoping to move forward up the grid, after replacing it’s four year old Commodore.

“The new chassis will certainly compliment what Phil and the guys have achieved so far this year,” said Bright.

“All the hard work finding the right set up on the old chassis will flow onto the new car. Unlike other teams who build new cars regularly, I’m expecting the difference in the new chassis compared to the 2007 spec chassis I’ve run this year will be enormous.”

Triple Eight Race Engineering will also be testing their new Commodore VE II. The two facelifted models will be run by Jamie Whincup, as regular driver Craig Lowndes is unavailable, currently visiting Europe.
