Ryan Briscoe to race at Bathurst 1000km

Ryan Briscoe has been added to the field for this year’s Bathurst 1000km event next month, driving a Holden Commodore for the Walkinshaw Performance team.

Briscoe is already confirmed to compete at the Gold Coast 600 event, but will now have a second crack at Mount Panarama, after last taking part at the famous 1000km event back in 2006, sharing a Commodore of the Holden Racing Team with veteran Jim Richards.

Briscoe will take join Andrew Thompson in the Bundaberg Red Racing #10 Commodore, taking over from Nick Percat at the Bathurst 1000km on October 10th. Briscoe will then take over his scheduled ride at Walkinshaw stable-mates HRT at Surfers Paradise later in the month.

Briscoe currently races in the Indycar Series with Penske Racing, where he’s fifth in the championship with one race remaining.
