Will Power on top in co-driver session

Will Power was fastest in the co-driver practice session of the Gold Coast 600, leading experienced V8 Supercar drivers Andrew Jones & Steve Owen.

Power set the best lap in the final moments of the session, setting a lap of 1:13.4205. This put him just four tenths of a second from the best lap of the day, set by his co-driver Steven Richards in the first practice session.

Andrew Jones was second fastest in the Brad Jones Racing Holden Commodore, with Triple Eight’s Steve Owen third fastest.

Sebastian Bourdais again impressed with the fourth fastest time in the Dick Johnson Racing Ford Falcon, ahead of Ryan Briscoe.

Andy Priaulx was sixth fastest, finding further pace from the Triple Eight Holden Commodore, going eight tenths of a second faster than in the earlier session.

The session was red flagged twice, as first Alex Tagliani and later Jack Perkins hit the wall, causing minor damage to their respective Commodores.

All drivers can take part in the final practice session, which is likely to see the full time drivers do most of the laps as they work on set-up for Saturday’s qualifying session.
