Trading Post leaving BJR in 2011

Brad Jones Racing loses the naming rights sponsor on Jason Bright’s car in 2011, with owner Telstra rumoured to be on their way to Ford Performance Racing.

Bright, currently 16th in the championship has a had a troubled first season with BJR. The BJR Holden Commodore has often been fast, but has struggled with mechanical issues, the most recent example being at the Gold Coast where the car, being driven by international co-driver Alain Menu, lost power at the start.

The team’s best result of the season came at the Bathurst 1000, as Bright fought his way up to fourth place in the closing stages behind the TeamVodafone and HRT cars.

A statement from Trading Post on their plans reads:
“Trading Post announces that after a review of its sponsorship program, it has decided to conclude its agreement with Brad Jones Racing at the end of this year.”

“Head of Telstra Classifieds, Michael Padden, said that Trading Post would like to congratulate Brad Jones Racing on their performance this year and their work with the Trading Post Racing team, and that Trading Post was looking forward to seeing the team flying the Trading Post colours for the three remaining races in 2010, including the Sydney Telstra 500.”

“Trading Post confirmed it remains committed to ongoing support of the sport, and hopes to announce its V8 Supercars program for next year, ahead of the Sydney Telstra 500 in December.”

The #14 car was sponsored by Wow Sight & Sound in 2009, with Trading Post new to the team this season. Rumours suggest that Trading Post, or another Telstra brand with move to FPR in 2011 to sponsor the #6 car, currently driven by Steven Richards.
