First pole position for Dumbrell

Paul Dumbrell has followed up on his first career victory yesterday in style, by snatching pole for Race 24 of the V8 Supercars series at Sandown.

The Bottle-O Racing driver, which is run out of the FPR team, set the pole lap of 1:10.505, and will start ahead of FPR colleague Mark Winterbottom.

Garry Rogers Motorsport’s Lee Holdsworth qualified third in a shook up grid.

Jamie Whincup will start fourth alongside championship rival James Courtney in fifth, and Craig Lowndes completing a TeamVodafone sandwich around the series leader in sixth.

Garth Tander’s rebuilt Holden Commodore after yesterdays crash qualified in 20th place.
