Murphy to Kelly Racing?

Greg Murphy is expected to drive for Kelly Racing in place of Jason Bargwanna in 2011, as Bargs will likely fill in for Jason Richards at BJR.

Bargwanna is expected to jump across to Brad Jones Racing after one year with Kelly Racing in the No.11 Rock Racing entry.

BigPond Sport says that Bargwanna is set to fill in for Jason Richards, as he continues to recover after an operation to remove a tumour before the penultimate round at Sandown.

Energy drink company Rock is expected to move across as well, leaving a new sponsor free to sign on with Kelly Racing’s last seat. That seat is now expected to go to Greg Murphy, who is looking for a drive after confirming he will leave Paul Morris Motorsport also after just one season.

Murphy’s ties with Holden in New Zealand preclude him from taking up any of the remaining top drives at Ford, which leaves Kelly Racing as the most likely option for Murphy.

It’s also expected that Pepsi Max, which is seeking a title sponsorship deal in 2011 is likely to end up with the final Kelly Racing entry, after a failed plan to link up with Ford Performance Racing.

The move will reunite Murphy with the Kelly brothers, racing alongside Todd and Rick in the team’s previous incarnation of K-Mart Racing between 2001 and 2004.

Brad Jones Racing and Kelly Racing have yet to comment on the speculation.
