SBR confirm Brabham & McIntyre for endurance races
Stone Brothers Racing have confirmed that David Brabham and John McIntyre will race for the team at the endurance rounds this season.
David Brabham and John McIntyre also paired with the team’s drivers Alex Davison & Shane van Gisbergen last season at Phillip Island, Bathurst and the Gold Coast 600.
Brabham competed as the team’s international star at the Surfers Paradise circuit on the Gold Coast, meaning the team was the only one to keep the same line-up for all of the three special events in 2010.
This year, new rules specify the international drivers at the Gold Coast 600 can’t have competed at the endurance rounds, and so Brabham & McIntyre will not be present at Surfers Paradise.
The team have also confirmed that Daniel Gaunt will share with regular Tim Slade in the third car which is run in co-operation with James Rosenberg Racing.
“Having drivers of the ilk of David, John and Daniel certainly won’t hurtour cause,” said Team Principal Ross Stone.
“All the guys have driven with us before so they understand and are comfortable with the way we do things, and fit in with the crew really well.”
