Tony D’Alberto confirms switch to Ford

Tony D’Alberto Racing has unveiled their new Ford Falcon FG race car with which they will compete in the rest of the 2011 V8 Supercars season.

The team had been widely reported to be readying to switch to a newer specification car, with the team’s Holden Commodore VE the oldest chassis still racing, and have now confirmed they will run the Falcon from the second round of the championship at Adelaide on 19th-20th March.

The team, which now runs under the moniker of Wilson Security Racing, will receive technical support from Ford Performance Racing, from where the chassis has been purchased.

“The car looks cool, we have strong backing and we’re confident that the number three Falcon will be pushing for good results,” said D’Alberto.

“We’re still running a Commodore with David Wall in the Fujitsu Series, so Holden is still a big part of our operation.”

“However, we saw the move to a Ford as an opportunity for us to take the next step and we’re looking forward to building a successful relationship with them as well.”
