Stéveny & de Radiguès win race one at Spa

Phillipe Stéveny and Didier de Radiguès have closed to within two points of series leaders Frédéric Bouvy & Christian Kelders after winning the first race of the weekend at Spa.

The Kia Buy Way Pro_Cee’d snatched the win from the Delahaye Racing No.2 Renault Mégane Trophy of Stéphane Lémeret and Eduoard Mondron.

The latter pair had qualified on pole position with a time of 2:26.986, but couldn’t hold off the fast paced Kia which went on to take its third win of the season, whilst reigning champions Delahaye Racing continue to chase for their first victory of the season.

Edouard Mondron had to fight off the attacking Volvo S60 of Vincent Radermecker in the last half of the race, with the veteran touring car racer securing the final spot on the podium.

The other two Delahaye Racing Méganes of Bouvy/Kelders & Richard/Viron finished fourth and fifth, with the returning Chad Racing Kia Pro_Cee’d of Tom Ferrier & Iain Dockerill in sixth.

Koen Wauters and Ronnie Latinne took the spoils in the T3 class, finishing seventh overall in their Volkswagen Scirocco ahead of Steve Vanbellingen and Eric Qvick’s BMW M3.

There are two shorter sprint races which take place from 11:00 CET tomorrow.
