Westbrook and Bergmeister join GC600 line-up

Sportscar drivers Richard Westbrook and Jorg Bergmeister will join Kelly Racing for the Gold Coast 600 this October.

British driver Richard Westbrook, whom currently races for Nissan in the GT1 World Championship and drove for Corvette Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will partner Todd Kelly in the #7 Jack Daniel’s Racing Holden Commodore.

Career Porsche driver Jörg Bergmeister will pair up with Rick Kelly in the #15 Commodore. The 35-year-old German has vast experience in endurance racing, having competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 10 times, and has regularly driven in the American Le Mans Series since 2002.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the Armor All Gold Coast 600 this October,” Westbrook.

“This year I’ve been racing an iconic American muscle car in the Corvette – now I’ll get to sample some Aussie muscle with a Jack Daniel’s Commodore.”

“They are both V8s and rear-wheel-drive but obviously V8 Supercars are a unique beast. I expect it to take some getting used to but I will do my research and I can’t wait for the challenge.”
