Youlden and Davison on pole at Phillip Island

Ford Performance Racing duo Will Davison and Luke Youlden will start from pole position for the 500km race at Phillip Island tomorrow.

The grid for the first of the V8 Supercars Championship’s two endurance rounds of the season is set by the results of two sprint races on the Saturday, and after a win for Davison in the first heat and a 15th place finish for Youlden in the second heat, the FPR #6 Ford Falcon FG picks up pole position for the race.

New Zealand pair Shane van Gisbergen and John McIntyre won the second heat, with McIntyre finishing 19th in the first heat, which puts them third on the grid in their Stone Brothers Racing Ford Falcon.

Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander and Nick Percat will start second and the top placed Holden Commodore, with championship leader Jamie Whincup, sharing with Andrew Thompson, starting fourth.
