Lee Holdsworth signs for Stone Brothers

Lee Holdsworth has signed a deal to race for Stone Brothers Racing from the 2012 season, where he will replace Alex Davison in the No.4 IRWIN Tools backed Ford Falcon. Holdsworth leaves Garry Rogers Motorsport after five full seasons with the Melbourne-based team.

The 28-year-old will now race for Ross and Jim Stone’s Gold Coast-based squad, who are chasing their first title since 2005.

“First of all I have to thank Garry Rogers Motorsport for the past six years and Garry for giving me a serious shot at V8 Supercars,” said Holdsworth.

“There has been a lot of speculation about my career in recent months, but we have not been in a position to announce anything until now.”

“SBR are a championship-winning team and I look forward to moving back from Melbourne and being a part of the Queensland-based organisation in 2012.”

Holdsworth will join Tim Slade and Shane van Gisbergen at the team for 2012.
