Steve Owen joins Dick Johnson Racing in fourth car
Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) expands to four cars for the 2012 V8 Supercar season and adds Steve Owen to the fold.
The team will run two cars under the Jim Beam Racing banner for the 2012 with Steven Johnson and Dean Fiore, who has closed his Triple F Racing team and brought his Racing Entitlement Contract (REC) with him.
James Moffat will again race in No.18, this year sponsored by Norton Security, whilst Steve Owen, who raced a Holden Commodore for Paul Morris Motorsport last season joins Dick Johnson Racing in a fourth Ford Falcon FG, using the same REC as last season as PMM merges with DJR and also brings across the team’s sponsor, VIP Pet Foods.
“This year we will run a four-car team in the V8 Supercars ‘main game’ for the first time, so it’s an important development for us,” said Team Principal Dick Johnson. “I also welcome back Steve, who drove with us in the 2008 long-distance races.”
