Holden welcomes Nissan: “Bring it on!”

Holden has welcomed the announcement of today that Nissan joins the V8 Supercars 2013.
“We have the very best teams and the finest drivers, so we say – Bring it on!” said GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director, Mike Devereux.

Holden also underlines the importance for the championship of the new Car of the Future regulations, enabling and encouraging new manufacturers to enter.
“The new car market has changed dramatically over the past few years creating many challenges for local manufacturers. Understandably, V8 Supercars has seen the need to alter its requirements to encourage more manufacturers into the category to keep it relevant,” said Devereux.

Ford and Holden has been alone in the V8 Supercars since 2001. The addition of Nissan is a new chapter in Australian motorsport history, according to Holden.
“The introduction of another manufacturer does not waiver our commitment; in fact we are excited about the challenge and it will add yet another chapter to our proud motorsport history. Holden is Australia’s car company and V8 Supercars will remain the quintessential Aussie motor racing series,” said Devereux.
