Davison leads FPR 1-2 ahead of Winterbottom

Will Davison claimed victory in the first race of the weekend at Symmons Plains ahead of team mate and pole-man Mark Winterbottom.
“I just can’t believe it. Another 1-2 for FPR is really important for our team. We just have to keeping building on this. All my guys have done an amazing job. It’s never fun battling with your teammate, you have to be so careful,” said Davison.

Davison got the jump on Winterbottom at the start and kept the lead throughout the race while Winterbottom gained some ground.
“I just can’t get off the line, but the car’s quick. I caught him but there would have been panel damage, but it’s good. The bad ankle is hurting me off the line and I just can’t control it and get a good start,” said Winterbottom.

Champion Jamie Whincup crossed the line as third and best Holden driver ahead of Shane van Gisbergen and Graig Lowndes.

David Reynolds came home in sixth ahead of Garth Tander and Tim Slade. Lee Holdsworth and Todd Kelly rounded off the top ten.

James Courtney had a dreadful race, spinning after contact on the first lap with Rick Kelly. The both finished far down the order because of that, 18th and 19th respectively.
