Winterbottom and Davison secure FPR front row
Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison secured a Ford Performance Racing front row in the qualifying session at Symmons Plains in Tasmania.
“I wasn’t sure how we’d go then, but on the second lap it was 90 percent right – I wasn’t really expecting that from practice,” said Winterbottom.
Winterbottom claimed pole with a lap of 51.4020, just 0.09 seconds ahead of team mate Davison.
Shane van Gisbergen made it three Fords in the top three, with the three Holdens of Jamie Whincup, Craig Lowndes and Garth Tander in positions four to six.
David Reynolds claimed seventh ahead of rookie Taz Douglas, who claimed his best ever qualifying position in eighth. Jonathon Webb and Steven Johnson rounded off the top ten.
