Ford Performance Racing tests COTF at Winton

The Prodrive-run Ford Performance Racing team has taken the wraps off of its Car Of The Future Ford Falcon prototype at Winton Motor Raceway today, with drivers Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison present at the unveiling.

The car is the first Ford built to the new COTF regulations which come into force next year, with Triple Eight Race Engineering already shown off their variant of the rival Holden Commodore VE.

Running in Ford’s Ecoboost livery, promoting the manufacturers’ latest range of turbocharged petrol engines, Mark Winterbottom took the track setting a handful of laps on the car’s first shakedown.

The team was also testing its regular 2012 challengers at the track ahead of the next rounds of the Championship, with the team’s endurance drivers also present with the two endurance rounds at Sandown and Bathurst next up for the V8 Supercars Championship.
