Nissan welcomes Mercedes to V8 Supercars
V8 Supercars newcomers Nissan welcomes the announcement of Mercedes-Benz becoming the fourth manufacturer being represented on the V8 Supercars grid next year.
Nissan welcomes the news that there will be Mercedes Benz V8 Supercars on the grid next season racing alongside our Nissan Altima, fielded by our factory Nissan Motorsport team, as well as entries from existing participants Ford and Holden,” said William F Peffer Jr, Nissan Australia Managing Director.
Mercedes-Benz will be represented in the V8 Supercars 2013 with three cars in the hands of customer teams Stone Brothers Racing and Erebus Motorsport.
Nissan reviled their V8 Supercars program earlier this year with four Nissan Altima V8 Supercars on the grid for 2013 alongside Ford, Holden and most recently Mercedes-Benz.
“A fourth manufacturer can only add further excitement to the sport. Next year is set to be an enormous year for Nissan Motorsport and the sport as a whole and everyone in the world of Nissan is excited about next season’s V8 Supercars Championship,” said Peffer.
