Casey Stoner denies confirmed V8 Supercars drive

Casey Stoner has denied the report from The Sunday Mail yesterday that he is confirmed to take part in the Dunlop V8 Supercars development series this year for Triple Eight.
“Don’t believe everything you read! Haven’t decided what I’m doing yet, of course V8 Supercars is on the cards. Will let you know when I do!” Stoner wrote on his Twitter.

The story also suggested that Stoner would use number 27 in the series, a number currently owned by Matthew White Motorsport.

Reports state that the article published yesterday was originally made for the Clipsal 500 official program and then somehow made it out as a premature news story.

While the story of Stoner joining V8 Supercars was not confirmed yet, most news sources state that the story is likely to become official within a couple of weeks.
