Rotek Racing to miss BTCC finale

Rotek Racing will miss the final race of the 2014 BTCC season after their Audi S3 sustained serious accident damage at Silverstone.

Tony Gilham was due to race the car in place of Robb Holland, who has a prior commitment on Saturday.

But the team has said further structural repairs are needed, and they can’t complete them in time for Brands Hatch.

It is the second time the team have been forced to miss a round this season, after sitting out Thruxton due to damage sustained at Donington Park.

A statement on the official BTCC website said: “TOCA officials are satisfied that every attempt has been made by the team to meet its entry obligations and has therefore declared Rotek Racing’s absence as a case of force majeure.”
