Audi and Honda back to base weight

The Audi TT and Honda Civic Type-R models had their Balance of Performance ballast removed just before the Free Practice 2 session of the TCR premiere in Malaysia.

The outstanding performances of the SEATs eventually led to the decision of reverting all cars back to their original base weight, which is 1260 kilos as per regulations.

Further adjustments may be made during the weekend.

Meanwhile, Campos Racing eventually announced Jordi Oriola will not take any further part in the weekend, although the young Spaniard is confident he will make it to the Shanghai grid. Team-mate Igor Skuz barely managed to do a few laps in his Opel Astra, so Campos Racing decided to focus their efforts on a single car.

The number of cars at Sepang are therefore down to 16 as of now.
