Andrew Jordan frustrated with inconsistent MG showing
Triple Eight Racing’s Andrew Jordan endured a frustrating Saturday at Brands Hatch, as his bid for a third consecutive pole at the season opener never got off the ground.
The 2013 champion missed a significant chunk of the first practice session with a turbo failure, and then had a trip through the gravel en route to 10th in qualifying.
In his first race for the factory MG squad, Jordan says he plans to fight hard to make forward progress.
“I was expecting to be a bit higher up and challenging for pole if I’m honest. The car was very inconsistent. We ran with the setup that was really good here in testing, but today we have a bit of understeer and a bit of oversteer,” said Jordan.
“It’s a tricky one and it’s down to us to get this right; I think we’ve got quite a bit to do. It’s frustrating, but it’s a long season and I think we’ll be able to come forward and press on if we can make some changes tonight. I like coming through the pack and I’m going to need to do a bit of that now.”
