Team Craft-Bamboo Lukoil confident for SEAT’s home race

Team Craft-Bamboo Lukoil are hopeful of a strong result at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia this weekend, the home race for the SEAT León Cup Racer and for their drivers Pepe Oriola and Jordi Gené, who currently sit fourth and sixth in the standings after the first two race meetings of the 2015 TCR International Series.

A DNF in race one in Shanghai dropped Oriola behind in the standings, and he’s now 23 points behind points leader Gianni Morbidelli heading into the first weekend of the European leg of the series inaugural season.

“This is my home race so I really want to do my best, for the fans and also for my championship,” said Oriola. “I am still close to the leaders so I really need to work hard to get some good results in Valencia. I am confident in the car’s ability but the competition will be tough, I will need to work really hard on my qualifying time so I can get a good start which will be crucial for my challenge in Valencia.”

Jordi Gené is also hopeful of a good result at his home race, at a track which he is very familiar with in both his testing capacity with SEAT and from his six years racing in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

“It feels good to be back in Spain and I am really excited for Valencia because it is a circuit I am familiar with and I know it will be a good race for the fans,” said Gené. “I hope that we don’t suffer any of the same issues we did in Shanghai but the team has been working hard and it is a circuit that fits very well with the SEAT Leon. I am confident that we can return to the form that was seen in Malaysia.”
