Michel Nykjaer hungry for more success
Michel Nykjaer claimed his maiden TCR International Series podium. The Target Competition driver managed to get to second place after the start and never left it, also putting on a good show with Craft-Bamboo Lukoil’s Pepe Oriola in the process.
“I was seventh on the grid, but made the most out of the crash situation and jumped up to second,” said the Dane. “After the Safety Car I tried to push, but I had a difficult time because I had a problem on the front right, so the car was bouncing all the time. I’m happy I managed to keep Oriola behind me and finish in second.”
Nykjaer is happy but not content with his second place, and wants more success in the coming races: “I want to stay on the podium zone. I finally had a good race and I’m happy with where I finished, although I always want to win, that’s any racer’s goal.
I think the fight with Pepe was very nice and entertaining, resisting to his attacks was not easy but I managed to do so and I’m really happy that things went my way today.”
Michel Nykjaer claimed 24 points this weekend, exactly the same amount of points he had scored in the previous two race meetings.
