Gianni Morbidelli cautious but optimistic after Free Practice

Gianni Morbidelli dominated the first Free Practice session in Monza, Italy. The home hero was almost one and a half second quicker than WestCoast Racing team-mate Igor Skuz, confirming the Honda Civic TCR as the car to beat in Monza.

” I obviously have to be satisfied after the work we have done yesterday, and today the car felt even better,” said Morbidelli to TouringCarTimes. ” I still think we have room for improvement.”

When asked if he fears SEAT will strike back, Morbidelli was cautious:” We will have to see what happens. If the temperatures get higher, then we will have more problems than SEAT, which may have been an advantage this morning as the air was cool. Let’s wait and see what happens.”
