Igor Skuz given five-place grid penalty for Bas Schouten incident

WestCoast Racing’s Igor Skuz has been given five-place grid penalty for the next race for his part in the incident on the second lap of race two, when he made contact with Bas Koeten Racing’s Bas Schouten.

Skuz closed the door on the Dutch driver at Turn 13 whilst battling just outside of the points positions following a poor start from pole position in his Honda Civic TCR. The contact spun Skuz’s Honda around, which then made heavy front-end contact with the barriers and was forced to retire. Bas Schouten’s car also suffered damage but was able to continue, with the Dutch driver going on to finish in ninth position.

As Skuz is not scheduled to take part in the next race at Sochi in Russia, the Ukrainian will serve his penalty at the Argentinian round of the series on 26th July.
