Proteam and Campos to skip Sochi

Proteam Racing and Campos Racing will both sit out of the Race of Russia in Sochi.

The Italian team, which made its official debut in Monza, after enduring a troubled weekend in their home race, decided to take the car back to the workshop in order to fit a racing sequential gearbox to their Ford Focus.

The updated car will serve as a base to develop the Focus, which has effectively no mileage in anger due to the issues which plagued the car ever since it hit the track.

Campos Racing will also sit out of the Russian event, therefore not entering their Opel Astra OPCs.

In Austria the Spanish team endured a tough weekend, with Fernando Monje not able to race due to engine gremlins and Markus Östreich also hit by engine troubles.

The absences momentarily cut the grid to 12 entries, with only SEAT and Honda cars on track.
