Pepe Oriola looking forward to thrilling title battle

Pepe Oriola scored two second places in Sochi, Russia, almost climbing up to the points lead and finding himself as little as two points behind championship leader Stefano Comini.

The Craft-Bamboo Lukoil Racing driver is happy with the results: “It was a perfect weekend, the car was very good straight from Friday testing,” said the Spaniard. “I was always among the fastest drivers on track. I made the most out of the opportunities I had in Race 2 to accomplish the double podium.”

Oriola is sure the title battle will get more and more exciting as the season goes on, and is happy he managed to bag precious points in Russia: “I really enjoyed Sochi, I couldn’t have asked for more because I leave Russia second in the championship. It’s going to be a thrilling battle up until the last race.”

Oriola scored 40 points this weekend, just like team-mate Jordi Gené, by taking two second places as well as finishing second in qualifying.
