Proteam Racing working hard on Ford Focus ST

Proteam Racing are working desperately on their Ford Focus ST in order to get it ready for its first proper appearance on track in Austria.

The Italian team chose to fit a Bacci-built sequential racing gearbox in order to eliminate the issues encountered earlier this season with the original road going parts.

As a result, Proteam have been forced to work almost 24/7 to make sure the car would hit the track before it has to be shipped for the final Asian leg of the season.

“These last three nights were really hard to bear, we went to sleep at 3 a.m., but that’s what we have to do,” said team owner Valmiro Presenzini to TouringCarTimes. “The driveshafts have been delivered on Friday morning and everything is new, so we just need to fit everything and hope for the best.”

The Focus is being worked on and it is still unclear wether or not the car will be ready for Free Practice 2, which starts at 13.00 local time.
