Stefano Comini: “Morbidelli penalty makes justice”
Stefano Comini inherited the win from WestCoast Racing’s Gianni Morbidelli after the Italian was penalized with a post-race drive through penalty, which left him out of the points.
The Swiss was longing for the penalty: “This penalty makes justice,” said the championship leader to TouringCarTimes. “He had been hitting me for several laps and did a few moves which were unacceptable. I am glad the stewards decided to punish him, it was about time they did.”
Speaking of his Honda rival, Comini continued: “Morbidelli was going to be on everyone’s black list, except for his team-mates Kevin Gleason and Igor Skuz. The penalty will hopefully restore the quality of driving standards in the championship.”
Comini is joined on the podium by team-mate Andrea Belicchi and Craft-Bamboo Lukoil’s Pepe Oriola.
