Stefano Comini delighted to race in Singapore
Stefano Comini has been announced in the entry list for the Race of Singapore, which is part of the FIA Formula One World Championship support package.
The Swiss had a last minute call from his Target Competition team after his budget struggles had almost convinced him he would not be back in the car for the year: “I’m so happy! I still can’t believe it, because it was a last minute decision and I had kind of lost hopes of making it to Singapore.”
Comini admitted his summer break was not serene at all as he sought all possible resources in order to invest them in the TCR International Series: “These were challenging months. The championship itself is very intense, the racing weekends are very stressful and it was not easy to get good results this year. The idea of not making it to the end of the championship when you’re three races away from the goal is really frustrating.”
The Swiss is excited to race in Singapore, a challenge he is happy to take: “We will be racing at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, a street track on which Formula One races as well, it will be a very thrilling experience and a technical challenge, I can’t wait!”
Comini sits second in the championship, just two points shy of Craft-Bamboo Lukoil’s Pepe Oriola.
