Jordi Gené never had doubts he had winning pace

Jordi Gené took an important win today in Singapore, where the Spaniard took the lead at the start and never left it.

The Craft-Bamboo Lukoil driver was able to make the most out of the reversed grid after a troubled qualifying session yesterday: “The car had been excellent throughout the weekend,” said the SEAT driver. “I only had an unlucky qualifying that put me in a difficult position for Race 1, but my pace was very good yesterday too.”

As for Race 2, Gené was confident his pace was enough to earn him victory: “Everything went very well today and I am very happy to still be in the fight for the championship. Today I only needed to stay focused to avoid trouble and mistakes.”

Gené is now 30 points behind championship leader Stefano Comini.
