Stefano Comini happy to claim championship lead with double podium

Stefano Comini took yet another second place finish in the second race in Singapore, although with very different feelings.

As yesterday the Target Competition driver felt stripped of a victory from an electrical problem, the Swiss had to mount a challenge from tenth to pick up the second podium spot.

“I apologize for not putting the show today!,” said Comini. “I just tried to preserve the car, the tyres and my energy. It was a good race and I had a good fight with Pepe.”

Comini also kissed a wall during the race, escaping unhurt from the scratch: “I slightly scrapped a wall and my brakes got very weak in the closing laps, but nothing serious. I am very happy of the results of this weekend, which are excellent with regard to the championship.”

Comini effectively took the lead of the championship back from Oriola’s hands, the Swiss now eleven points ahead of his fellow SEAT driver.
