Pepe Oriola worried about Honda pace
Pepe Oriola finished the first Free Practice session at Buriram, Thailand, in second. The Spaniard is happy with the behaviour of his car, but he is worried the Honda Civic TCR Step 2 will be just too fast this weekend.
“The session went very well,” said Oriola to TouringCarTimes. “I think I did a perfect lap, if I did a hundred laps of the track I could shave off a tenth or two maybe, but I’m not sure. The car is behaving really well.”
Despite his happiness with the car, the Craft-Bamboo Lukoil driver is worried about the pace Gianni Morbidelli has shown in his WestCoast Racing Honda: “They could be just too fast for us. Honestly I don’t think I have half a second in my pocket, so it remains to be seen what we can do. I’m sure the Honda will be competitive, we will have to fight hard here in Thailand.”
Pepe Oriola had finished second in yesterday’s Testing session as well, behind team-mate Jordi Gené.
