Robb Holland hopeful all issues are solved
Robb Holland never stood a chance of setting a competitive time as a driveshaft failure and an alternator problem crippled his FRD Ford Focus. Despite the setback, the American is not downbeat.
“We had a series of problems, but coming here I knew the car would not run smoothly,” admitted the American to TouringCarTimes. “However we have done more than anyone else with this car, so the direction is good. For the races all the gremlins we had should be fixed, including a problem upshifting, which is worth a lot on such a track. I am confident we can have a good race.”
Talking about the team, Holland was full of praise for FRD: “They are very prepared, they are very good at finding solutions and are quick to understand where the problems come from. To be honest I couldn’t have asked for more, we are here to develop the car and this is the right way to do it.”
Holland has very precise plans for the Ford Focus TCR: “My goal is to turn this car into a Nordschleife challenger, and possibly also take it to Silverstone. I’m not saying we will not take part in the TCR International Series at all, but my main focus still is the British Touring Car Championship, so we will have to see how things work out. I really like the championship and the concept, though, the cars are great to drive and I really enjoyed myself despite the problems.”
Robb Holland will make his debut in the TCR Asia Series this weekend, as the car is not entered for the International Series.
