Top Run may skip Free Practice 2

Top Run are working on a gearbox issue which may prevent them from doing any running in Free Practice 2. The team are developing the new Subaru WRX STi and are worried about losing precious track time due to the problem.

“We are working hard on the car,” said Alain Menu to TouringCarTimes. “The session was just too short for us, we need to get a lot of miles under our belt in order to understand the car and fix the youth gremlins it inevitably suffers from.”

The driver is well aware of the problems which need to be solved in order to make the car competitive: “We need to have a better turn-in, the car feels a little lazy at the moment. That is the key in a front-wheel drive touring car, so if we can fix that we will make a huge step forward. We will try some drastic changes in order to give us a direction as to where we should go in terms of setup.”

Free Practice 2 is scheduled for 11.00 local time.
