Pepe Oriola confident ahead of Thailand races

Pepe Oriola went out on track today to check his fuel pump after he had an alarm on his screen towards the end of Qualifying yesterday concerning fuel pressure.

Once he checked the car was okay, the driver went on to do a few more laps on the Chang International Circuit: “I like this track, it’s very good. I had a fuel pressure alarm yesterday so we went out to check the new pump was working properly, but I also enjoyed the laps I did, though I used old tyres.”

Looking ahead at the races, Oriola is confident: “The way the circuit is, I think we can overtake and fight, so the races will be entertaining. The only concern we have is the temperature, because the SEAT has trouble staying in the slipstream for too long, as the temperatures go up.”

The Craft-Bamboo Lukoil driver will start the first race on the front row alongside pole sitter Gianni Morbidelli, who scrubbed his brakes this morning ahead of the races.
