Robb Holland in awe of “amazing” Macau
Robb Holland is making his debut in Macau at the wheel of a Roadstar Racing-run SEAT León Cup Racer this weekend. The American driver took a steady approach to the first practice session and chose not to push at his maximum, focussing instead on learning the track, and says the Guia circuit is like nothing he’s ever driven before.
“There is no point in pushing and bringing the weekend to an early end,” said Holland to TouringCarTimes. “Obviously being 19 seconds off the pace is not my limit, but I need to do several laps and make sure I learn as much as I can.”
The Roadstar Racing SEAT is also a good benchmark to compare the Ford Focus ST TCR, which is being driven by James Nash this weekend, and finished the session in 12th.
“I needed to know what a fully developed TCR car felt like, so I can give a more precise feedback about the Ford. It is a project I fully believe in and I am happy James is driving it this weekend,” he added.
Like many, Holland felt the fascination of the Guia Circuit.
“This is an incredible place. Just driving around is amazing, and I’m sure I will enjoy it more and more as I get closer to the limit. It is magic, nothing like I’ve ever driven before, not even the Nordschleife. It’s just amazing.”
