Teamwork Motorsport to run Volkswagens in TCR Asia
Hong Kong-based team Teamwork Motorsport has announced plans to compete in the second season of the TCR Asia Series, running a pair of new-build Volkswagen Golf TCRs in the six event series.
Teamwork, which have competed recently in both the Hong Kong Touring Car Championship with a brace of Peugeot RCZs and the China Touring Car Championship with a pair of Citroën C-Elysées in the Super Cup 2.0T class, will now try their hand with the TCR Asia Series, which was won last season by Michael Choi in Prince Racing’s Honda Civic TCR.
“We will continue to adhere to our concept of servicing our customers and assisting them to achieve their goals and we will focus on two main components needed for championships like the TCR Asia Series – the reliability of the equipment and the professionalism of the team,” said team principal Paul Hui. “I believe the VW Golf GTi will be the vehicle to beat in 2016 and the strong support from VW Motorsport will help us to achieve our target.”
The first round of the 2016 TCR Asia Series takes place in South Korea on May 14th-15th. The team will announce the drivers for their TCR Asia programme at a later date.
