WestCoast Racing making progress despite limited track time
Gianni Morbidelli led the way in the second session today, but WestCoast Racing team-mates Kevin Gleason and Aku Pellinen also made progress.
The American was actually crippled by a broken splitter this morning, which meant only four fast laps all day: “I think I had four flying laps altogether today,” said Gleason. “It’s certainly not enough, especially after breaking a splitter this morning.”
Despite the limited clean track time, the American appreciates the circuit layout: “It is not a bad start and the track is absolutely beautiful, very interesting, with an interesting combination of sections of very different type.”
Aku Pellinen is in his debut weekend in the TCR International Series, and would have liked to have more time to get to grips with the car and the track: “I certainly would have liked more mileage with the car and more time on this track new to me before going into qualifying, but I cannot change that.”
The Finn is still determined to get a good result out of tomorrow’s qualifying session: “I’m not entirely happy with what I achieved today but I’ll try to improve tomorrow.”
