Gianni Morbidelli did ‘everything he could’

Gianni Morbidelli had looked strong in Free Practice, especially in the second session, when he was quickest. The Italian however failed to make it to the top three, with three SEATs occupying the top spots.

“We did all we could,” said the WestCoast Racing driver. “This was the first time we could see where everybody stands.”

The Honda driver believes the results of the session mean the team will need to work harder on the Civic TCR to be more competitive than the Spanish cars: “The SEAT cars are ahead, it just means we have to improve and work to close the gap.”

Morbidelli will start from fourth in this evening’s race.
