Aku Pellinen loses third after jump start penalty

WestCoast Racing’s Aku Pellinen lost his third place due to a post-race penalty imposed by the stewards. The Finn was charged with a jump start and thus given a 30-seconds penalty, which demoted him to tenth.

The same penalty was applied to B3 Racing Team Hungary’s Mat’o Homola, who drops from sixth to eleventh.

The penalties mean that Dusan Borkovic finished third ahead of Davit Kajaia’s Volkswagen Golf Gti TCR, with Sergey Afanasyev fifth. Jordi Oriola gets eight points for sixth, with Gianni Morbidelli also advancing by two places up to seventh. Luigi Ferrara inherits eighth and scores four points for Top Run, while Bahraini driver Salman Al Khalifa scores two points for Bas Koeten Racing. Pellinen fills the remaining points-awarding spot.
