Two TCR cars on the podium at Silverstone 24h
Two SEAT León cars in TCR spec finished the Hankook 24 hours of Silverstone on the outright podium. The race, which is part of the 3-event Touring Car Endurance Series, was won by Team Abba with Rollcentre Racing BMW M3 V8 after the Team Bleekemolen SEAT, which had led for 15 hours, suffered from an engine failure.
Team Red Camel-Jordans.nl came home second (Rik Breukers/Ivo Breukers/Bert de Heus), three laps down on the winners, with Memac Ogilvy Duel Racing (Ramzi Moutran/Nabil Moutran/Sami Moutran/Phil Quaife) in third to complete the podium.
Team Abba gained the lead when Team Bleekemolen (Sebastiaan Bleekemolen/Melvin de Groot/Pim van Riet/Dennis de Borst) had an engine failure which led to retirement, after some 15 hours in the lead, with the Dutch SEAT making it through the night and the rain before the issue led the car to a halt as sunrise arrived.
The series will be back on track on June, 16th, for the second meeting of the year, with another 12-hour race at Meppen (Germany) set to be the last event of the series.
