Loris Hezemans disappointed with understeer issues
Loris Hezemans will start from pole position in the second race due to the reversed grid, after the Dutchman qualified tenth in Q2. Despite the positive outcome of the session, the Baporo Motorsport driver is unhappy with his SEAT León TCR’s performance.
“Surprisingly, perhaps, I’m actually not that pleased with today’s results,” admitted the Dutchman. “The bad weather in Free Practice 1 meant I changed to slicks just as the rain started, so I only had the second practice to learn the track.”
An understeer issue left the driver uncomfortable with the car: “We made some changes for Qualifying but we had a really bad understeer problem, especially power understeer out of the corners.”
Despite being happy with the reversed grid pole position and the chance to score a good result in Race 2, the driver knows that the issue must be solved if he is to have a serious chance of keeping the lead throughout the race: “I’m happy that I’m able to start from pole position in Race 2, but we need to fix this issue, otherwise I won’t be able to hold that position. I’m confident we’ll find something so hopefully I can be on the podium at least.”
Loris Hezemans already has a podium finish to his name in the TCR International Series after finishing second in Race 2 at Buriram, Thailand, at the wheel of a Target Competition SEAT León.
